Cann'Elec Project
A distillery producing renewable energy...
In keeping with its policy of sustainable development,
Bologne has, for several years, been investing in the production of renewable energies, by recycling and re-using all of its industrial wastes to produce electricity from biomass and biogas. Its pilot unit allowed for the validation of a more ambitious programme known as the “Cann’elec project”, which will help to reduce Guadeloupe’s deficit with regard to energy importation.The CANN'ELEC project is an agro-energy concept aimed at designing and promoting an electricity-producing industry based on biomass that is cultivated specifically for this purpose.
This programme combines industrial development and scientific research, and is being undertaken by :
* IRIS INGENIERIE – process design
* CIRAD – agricultural research and design
* BOLOGNE – pilot cultivation
